This website has good stories for early readers: http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/short-stories
Jaden loves to watch and listen to a 15 minutes series of short stories every night. I chose the stories which have simple sentences, simple grammars, repeated sentences. I blacklisted those violent story (Little Red Ridding Hood), bad behavior stories (Jack And The Beanstalk, The Greedy Hippo).
After a few weeks, I am going to let Jaden actually read them (he would know daftly the content of the stories by then) . By registering to be their member, you are allowed to print the stories (PDF files). I personally don't like the story format and I don't think it is suitable for early readers. Thus, I'll copy the stories into word files, edit them following "Peter and Jane" format, without illustrations. Besides, I'll refer to those stories to continue writing "Jaden and friends" series too :)
Jaden is currently reading this "book" before his bed time.

He loves anything blue...
After reading this blue colour story a few times, Jaden started to make up his own homework. Everything in sight would be in his nonstop Q/A: what color is the table, the table is grey; what color is Dad's shirt, Dad's shirt is green...
And yes, this is what I want him to have: the ability of using language to explore the world. To a toddler, even his home is full of adventures.
